What ages is this film appropriate for?
Ages 13 - 70. We've been amazed at the range of audience who have embraced this film. The energetic, entertaining visual style of the film certainly is attractive to younger audiences (40 and under), the thoughtful, challenging subject matter seems to hit home with any age. The subjects interviewed in the film, whether experts or man-on-the-street interviews, run the gamut of age, race and gender, representing a broad cross section of this diverse country of ours. Although the film is not yet rated, it is likely to receive a PG for mature subject matter - there is no profanity or off color humor, though mature subjects such as racism, gay marriage, abortion, consumerism and pornography are topics that are all touched upon in tasteful, meaningful ways.
Why do I have to purchase a site license? Can't I just use the DVD?
Every DVD purchased at retail outlets is licensed ONLY for home or personal viewing only, specified in the FBI warning seen at the beginning of all DVDs. Even though a church or school may be a non-profit and does not charge for viewing a DVD in their sanctuary, it is still unlawful to show a movie to a group unless that organization has official permission from the Producer or Distributor. The movie industry has begun to push for greater enforcement in this area. Our program covers almost any way your organization would like to use the film on your site for large group showings.
Can our organization purchase DVDs or Books in Bulk and Sell them at the events?
We have created a bulk-purchasing program that enables your church, school, or ministry to purchase multiple quantities of our DVDs and Books deeply discounted rates. If your organization wishes to purchase larger quantities for fun raising purposes, please contact your account representative for even greater discounts.
The Bulk Program is a great way for your organization to raise money. After purchasing the DVDs at the discounted price, your ministry can sell them at the full price. Or, you can use the Bulk Program DVDs as an outreach tool or to encourage the people of your ministry by giving the DVDs as gifts.
How many books/DVD's should I have available?
Every time we screen the movie we hear "I would buy 5/10/100 to give to friends if you were selling them". This is the kind of thing that people want to share with others so they can have the conversation with their friends/neighbors, etc.. People don't know where to start in this conversation and this film/book gets the ball rolling for them. So, without sounding too much like a salesman, if I were a pastor screening this film I'd be prepared to share a resource (book or film) that the audience is going to want. Jeff has mentioned 1 DVD for every 2 people in attendance. At our last screening, we had "orders" for 486 DVD's from a crowd of around 700.
Can I return any unsold DVDs or Books?
Yes, all products are returnable for a refund. You must first contact your account rep in order to receive a "Return Authorization Number". All returns must be sent via a traceable method and must be received in new, saleable condition in order to receive credit. You are responsible for freight.
Who would be most interested in this film?
Despite the ironic and (to some) controversial title, the film is balanced, open, honest, challenging, redemptive and, as such, remarkably accessible to Church folk AND those outside the faith. This film is a wonderful conversation starter for believers and our friends who wouldn't darken the door of our church. Perfect for a bridge event.
How long is the license for?
The church License is good for a 12-month period
How many times can I show the movie at my church?
The church license is good for a 12 month period and for up to 6 showings during that 12 month period.
Can I make arrangements with the local theatre to show this movie?
If a local theater has the ability to show a DVD on their screen and there is no charge for tickets, your site license allows you this opportunity. Tickets may be required to avoid overbooking, but admission charges cannot be required. Nonprofit organizations may promote the event with tickets that display a "suggested donation" either at the door or at the conclusion of the program.

If I purchase the Small Group House Party Edition, can I also show it in my church?
No, the Small Group House Party Edition is to be used only in your small group settings.
Can our group or church take up a special offering during the showing of this film?
Yes, the producers invite and encourage you to take up an offering each and every time you show this film. We encourage you to use this event to raise funds for your outreach programs. Also use the profits from the sale of the DVDs and the book for the same purpose.
Is this film covered by the CVLI (Christian Video Licensing International) or the MPLC (Motion Picture Licensing Corporation) umbrella licenses?
No. The licenses issued by these licensing organizations do not cover our film. Like other independent studios and distributors, we are offering our own licensing program.
Why is there an additional cost for the license?
The cost of our license is set so that this movie does not have to go only to movie theaters first. Churches and other ministries can use this film to begin a "conversation" within their body of believers. Most films of this caliber first begin in theatrical releases in order to attempt to make back their initial investment so that other films can be created. The producers wish for this film to first be shown in churches and colleges and universities.
We have a small home church; do I need a site license?
Yes. This is why the producers have created the Small Group Kit.
Can I sell tickets?
Tickets may be required to avoid overbooking, but admission charges cannot be required. Nonprofit organizations may promote the event with tickets that display a "suggested donation" either at the door or at the conclusion of the program.
Organizations wishing to sell tickets and exhibit the movie on a regular basis need to contact The Vantage Group and ask for information on our "Exhibitor's License."
Do I need to send the DVD back after 1 year?
If you choose to not use the DVD again for a public event, your license simply lapses. You can keep all the materials provided, including the DVD (for home use only).
